On Wednesday, Beyeeman Tano Kwaw Benbuin III, Omanhene of the Aowin Traditional Area, paid a courtesy call on Dr Yaw Adutwum, Minister of Education.
The purpose of the visit was to convey the chiefs' and people's heartfelt thanks to the minister for his help to Aowin's lone Senior High School (SHS).
In 2019, the chief met with Dr. Adutwum, who was then the Deputy Minister of Education, to discuss the urgent need for a new classroom block at Brentu Senior Technical High School (BSTHS).
He showed images of the wooden structures created in the late 1960s as interim classrooms for the Training College before the Busia Foundation completed the modern Enchi College of Education.
Dr. Adutwum, touched by Nana's plea and the dreadful situation of the classrooms, made sure that BSTHS received a 12-unit classroom block, which is nearly complete.
Dr. Adutwum also promised the Omanhene of the Aowin Traditional Area a new 64-seater bus for the school during Wednesday's brief meeting.
The minister for the Aowin Municipality is spearheading negotiations for a new school to help extend the educational net for pupils.
Wassa and Sefwi appear to have left Aowin behind, and these developments can only be seen positively as assisting Aowin in catching up with its classmates and benefiting from Ghana's educational goal.
