The Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) leadership has stated that it will guarantee that all teachers receive their computers as promised by the government.

The government is championing the previous administration's 1 Teacher, 1 Laptop initiative, which aims to guarantee that all teachers have computers in order to improve ICT literacy in classrooms.

During a visit to the Volta and Oti Regions, GNAT's General Secretary, Thomas Musah, disclosed that the distribution of laptops to teachers in junior high schools had commenced statewide.

This, he claims, comes after the delivery of materials to instructors at Senior High Schools has been completed. Teachers in all regions, with the exception of Ashanti and two districts in the Oti Region, have received their salaries, according to Mr. Musa.

According to the figures provided, the stock delivered to several areas in the Volta Region will not be sufficient, he noted.

He guaranteed, "We would undertake the required follow-up and ensure the outstanding ones [laptops] are given."

The leadership committed to negotiate for appropriate compensation while enacting initiatives to improve members' living conditions.

The district offices of Ho and Hohoe have asked cash to finish their secretariat projects, while Kpando is looking for help to get an office complex project off the ground after acquiring property.
