The Jospong Group of Companies (JGC) has been tasked with leading the energy-to-waste, or green energy, industry.
During an inspection trip of the Accra Compost and Recycling Plant (ACARP) in Adjen-Kotoku in the Ga West Municipality of Greater Accra, the Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Madam Cecilia Abena Dapaah, issued the following remark.
She stated that the government is ready to assist any private company that wants to enter the green energy market.
Despite the fact that investing in the waste to energy market is capital heavy, she believes JGC, based on its track record, will be able to get the necessary resources to complete such a project.
She praised the JGC for its ongoing "great investment" in this vein. That was obvious in the group's completed and continuing waste management projects around the country, she added.
"We will continue to encourage and assist them [JGC] in their efforts to achieve greater heights," she stated.
Madam Dapaah expressed her pleasure with the facility's operations after being shown around by ACARP's General Manager (GM), Michael Padi Tuwor.
"I am quite delighted with ACARP operations since they have exceeded my expectations," she enthusiastically stated.
She emphasized the need of programs like ACARP to assist add value to trash in the country for the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources (MSWR).
"Without initiatives like this, where would we have placed the 7,149,922 tons of garbage Ghana generates each year?"
