Mr Kormivi Dzotsi, the Defense Counsel for Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Dr Benjamin Kwasi Agordzo, claims that the accused made a GHS2,000.00 gift to Take Action Ghana (TAG) only to promote the organization's outreach program.

ACP Agordzo is facing an abetment accusation, along with nine others, for suspected treason, to which he allegedly donated money and a written speech.

Mr Francis Aboagye, the 10th prosecution witness and an investigator with the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), was cross-examined by the counsel, who stated that his client participated in and contributed to TAG's outreach program, whose members are facing treason and abetment charges, and that TAG's goals were democratically oriented.

The Defense Counsel stated that his client's conversations with Dr. Frederick Mac-Palm, the alleged brain behind the overthrow of the government, did not indicate that he was interested in overthrowing a constitutionally elected government, and that his use of the terms "big bang" and "the seed of Arab Spring has been sown" cannot be used against him as treasonous acts.

Mr Dzotsi informed the Court that he would not have filed accusations against ACP Agordzo if the witness and his team had performed a full and unbiased inquiry into the subject without any preconceived notions.

ACP Agordzo had made his goals apparent to the witness and his investigation team, according to the counsel, and his remarks on the "Arab Spring" can be found in his interaction with the witness.
