Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne is sure that he can keep on playing at the highest level past the expiry date of his current agreement, yet he wouldn't preclude an expected exit from the Etihad Stadium when his current arrangement runs out.

The Belgium global, who turns 31 in June, has been with the Citizens since joining from Wolfsburg in 2015, and he is under agreement until the late spring of 2025.

De Bruyne has developed into one of the most outstanding midfielders in world football at City, and the playmaker has been a vital gear-tooth in Pep Guardiola's machine, coming out on top with three Premier League championships, five EFL Cups and one FA Cup.

In an interview with Metro, the former Chelsea midfielder acknowledges that he can continue to play at the top for the next five years, but insists on being at the "right club" with the "right test" in his final option phases of his career.

De Bruyne provides update on Man City future

"I have barely any insight into my superb years," De Bruyne said. There is a misinterpretation that you are over the hill at 31! I feel far better and I'm playing well, so ideally I can carry on to the extent that this would be possible. "

"I have an additional three years on my agreement here, and that is quite a while. However long I'm fit and feel blissful, I'll play, though choosing now the way in which that will be hard.

"I can see myself actually playing at 35 or 36, but it must be the right club, the right test."

De Bruyne has shown up for City across all contests, scoring 80 objectives and giving 115 assists.
