After a string of bad performances, Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has challenged Edouard Mendy to "show he is a champion."Tuchel encouraged Mendy to accept and live with his mistakes before of the Blues' trip to Southampton on Saturday.
"I hope it doesn't have a negative impact on his self-esteem"This is also what goalkeeping is about," Tuchel said at a press conference on Friday. "Accepting mistakes and living with them and then going back and helping your team with performance, focus, re-focus, being cool, and staying confident."Tuchel also urged Mendy to reclaim his form ahead of the return leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, which they lost 3-1 at home.It's awful timing to make a mistake like this in any match, but in a quarter-final, against Real Madrid, it's one of the worst times you can make it.
