THOMAS TUCHEL has advised Chelsea to avoid contract uncertainty with important midfielders N'Golo Kante and Jorginho next season. This season, the Blues boss has been repeatedly questioned about the futures of defenders Andreas Christensen and Toni Rudiger, both of whom have contracts expiring this summer and are being pursued by Barcelona.Kante, 31, and Jorginho, 30, are both out of contract in 15 months, and Tuchel wants to resolve their issues before the start of next season.

When asked how vital it was to prevent the same situation with the midfield duo as he had with Christensen and Rudiger this season, the German responded, "Nobody wants that, obviously." With such crucial players, it is my hope as a coach that we can resolve this in the summer.

"That the route is clear, and the decision is clear." Otherwise, we have the same conversations about Toni and Andreas, only with other names, and we talk about it al. Then in January, when agents talk to clubs and brothers chat to one other — it'd be good if we could prevent it. However, it is now challenging. Yes, this should be our collective goal."Kante, a £29 million transfer from Leicester in 2016, has been one of Chelsea's better buys in recent years, although he has recently been in a slump.

The World Cup winner of France was taken off at halftime of Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid at Stamford Bridge, and some have speculated that he is on the decline.
