The Ashanti Region's balloting for this year's National Science and Maths Quiz Competition has been completed.
Each contes has an average of 4 to 5 schools, with the victor likely to advance to the next stage of competition.
The 19 schools from the qualifiers will join the 7 seeded schools that advanced to the quarterfinals or better, bringing the total number of Ashanti institutions to 26. The 26 schools will compete in the national tournament on behalf of Ashanti.
Primetime Ghana, the competition's organisers, has also confirmed the dates for each contest.
The Nationwide Science and Maths Quiz Competition has grown into a national event, attracting widespread interest from the general public.
Old students and other stakeholders hold school officials accountable for their competition performance.
Prempeh College won the championship after a thrilling victory over Keta SHS and Presec Legon in the past edition, which was held for the first time outside of the Greater Accra Region.
