The National Disaster Management Organization's (NADMO) Communication Director said the organization is prepared for any possible floods around the country.

George Ayisi, speaking on JoyNews' The Pulse on Friday, said NADMO is prepared to transfer flood-affected families to safety.

"I mentioned that a specific rescue squad is available, and that operation teams are on standby." When they need us, we'll be able to respond quickly to help them get to safety," he added.

He also mentioned that NADMO is educating people on how to handle flooding.

Mr. Ayisi asked the people to pay attention to weather forecasts issued by meteorologists.

Parents should keep their children away from flooded regions, he added. This is because floods have the ability to lure anybody away, he explained.

In response to this week's floods in several coastal communities, he noted that NADMO has received some help for the residents of Shama and Sege, and that the Organization would follow up.

Felicity Ahafianyo, the Head of the Ghana Meteorological Agency's Central Analysis and Forecasting Office, stated on Wednesday that thunderstorms and lightning are likely across the country.

The predicted thunderstorm will most likely include a thunderclap, poor visibility, and severe wind, which will impact fragile structures and tree limbs.

She described the storms that hit sections of the nation on Wednesday in an interview with Joy FM's Midday News that they are "rainstorms that generally impact us from March to May."

Meanwhile, Accra has been inundated in certain places following heavy rain on Friday, April 8.

The Weija Barrier – West Hills Mall length of the Kasoa Highway, the Central Business District, Sahara, and Odawna, among other localities, were all affected by the one-hour torrential rain.

While many commuters waited for the rain to stop, others drove safely through the water that has blanketed the city.
