Afia Animwaa Agyeman, a former Women's Organizer for the New Patriotic Party's Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON-KNUST), is running for the position of 2nd Vice-Chairperson in the upcoming NPP-UK branch executives' election.
The election for the NPP-UK branch is set for May 20th to 22nd, 2022. According to her, the action is intended to inspire additional women to join the party in any role they see suitable.
She feels that female presence on the executive board of the abroad branch is something the party can be proud of throughout the diaspora, which is why she has decided to run for office to promote women's interests in the party.
If elected, Afia Animwaa will be the first young woman in the history of the NPP-UK branch to hold the office of 2nd Vice-Chairperson.
She has been a part of the NPP's grassroots mobilization from her school days, having engaged in the adoption of polling locations, served on the campaign team, and worked for the party as a volunteer in charity.
Afia Animwaa is preparing to work toward the purchase of cutting-edge office space for members of the NPP UK chapter and beyond.
She also feels that better communication, the use of social media platforms, and the acceptance of digitization would promote activities while also assisting in record keeping and serving as a store of knowledge for future generations.
She believes that her victory will motivate more women to take up the mantle of leadership and give their all in favor of the NPP and Ghanaians in general.
She is relying on all voters to ensure that the feminine voice is heard at the men's table during the elections.
