STUDENT AT LEGON — After admitting to stealing more over GH100,000 from a church in Accra West Legon La bawaleshie, a Legon student is headed to police prison.
Jessica Ansah, the Lady, has pleaded guilty to stealing and misusing fiduciary property from Christ The King Fellowship.
According to a Church elder, Ansah was a finance assistant who had worked for the church for three years. She was in charge of two bank accounts at the church.
"In 2021, the Executive Committee of Christ The King Fellowship reviewed financial data and expenses. Ansah took a long time to turn over financial records, and it wasn't until the church got them from the bank that it was discovered that Ansah had been collecting money from them as far back as 2019," according to the article.
Ansah is said to have taken over GH100,000 from the church to pay for a vacation to Dubai, shopping sprees, restaurant eating, fast food, personal loan payments, and personal cell phone payments, among other things.
Despite the fact that Ansah had no prior criminal record, she was sentenced to seven years in jail. She is currently being held in police custody awaiting transfer to the nsawam jail.
"Members give with the best of intentions to their church." "In this case, money allocated for the church was instead utilized to sustain the defendant's lifestyle," said a Church elder. Ansah Jessica will be transferred to prison on April 11th, 2022, for a seven-year sentence.
