Which football teams are the most entertaining to watch: Liverpool, Barcelona, and PSG?There's no better feeling for a football fan than witnessing their team score a goal, no matter how rough the game is.

However, there will always be a Saturday throughout the season when your own team isn't playing for whatever reason. Which of Europe's top teams is most likely to give you with the most fun in that situation?

It's a topic that ESPN has attempted to address with its second-annual 'watchability' rankings, and they've dug deep into the data to arrive at a conclusion.

ESPN analysed the stats using a weighted measure that included shots and goals (36%), pressure and intensity (25%), entertaining major matches (15%), verticality (9%), tension (7%), quality (6%), and switches of play (2%) to find the best players. We've compiled a list of their top 20 teams that play the "beautiful game" in the most enjoyable way.

The top 20 most watchable teams in Europe (per ESPN.co.uk)

Empoli (8.6/10) is ranked 20th.

Atletico Madrid (nineteenth) (8.6)

Lyon is number eight (9.2)

Sassuolo is number seven (9.3)

Hellas Verona (No. 6) (9.4)

Barcelona is number five (9.5)

Under previous coach Ronald Koeman, the Blaugrana would not have been a top five contender, but the appointment of club great Xavi has reinvigorated Barca to a degree that few could have predicted.Their offensive comeback is evidenced by a total of 25 goals scored in their last eight league games.

Borussia Dortmund (4th) (9.5)

Dortmund have been without the likes of Erling Haaland and Giovanni Reyna for major stretches of the season due to injuries, but they've still put up a good show whenever they've taken the field. Many of their encounters have taken on an enthralling feeling of peril as a result of their defensive frailty. When it comes to Marco Rose's troops, nothing is assured until the final whistle.

3. Leeds United Football Club (9.6)

As Leeds have demonstrated this season, style does not always equate to success. The Whites, who have consistently been among Europe's most watchable teams, have struggled to convert their on-field flair into points, an issue that cost Marcelo Bielsa his job in late 2016.Leeds have continued to play exciting football under new head coach Jesse Marsch, with better results as a result. Over the course of 90 minutes, the Yorkshire outfit is unlikely to boring anyone.

2. The city of Liverpool (9.8)

Jurgen Klopp's team is currently well-balanced. The Reds are a dynamic attacking team with a rock-solid defense. Leeds have continued to play exciting football under new head coach Jesse Marsch, with better results as a result. Over the course of 90 minutes, the Yorkshire outfit is unlikely to boring anyone.Winning 10 games in a row in the Premier League is an easy task, but Liverpool has accomplished it in recent months while playing some fantastic football.

Bayern Munich is ranked first (9.9)

Goals are the name of the game, and no one in Europe's 'big five' leagues scores more than Bayern Munich.

Julian Nagelsmann's team has topped the rankings for the second year in a row, despite never playing a dull game.MUNICH, GERMANY – SEPTEMBER 29: FC Bayern München's Robert Lewandowski celebrates his team's second goal during the UEFA Champions League group E match between FC Bayern München and Dinamo Kiev at Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany on September 29, 2021. When it comes to Europe's most stylish leagues, the Bundesliga and Serie A lead the way, with each competition having six members in the top 20.

Although two of the English top-greatest flight's – Manchester City and Liverpool – face off this weekend in an affair that is likely to deliver, La Liga and the Premier League each have three teams in the countdown.

According to the statistics, Ligue 1 is your worst bet for free-flowing football. Are you familiar with these UEFA Champions League final venues?
