After two people were killed by armed men in Mamadukura, an agricultural settlement near Chacher in the Bole District of the Savannah Region, tensions are rising.
Mamadu Yaw Nusatey, 60, and his 35-year-old niece, Akua Diboune, have been named as the victims.
According to information acquired by Rebecca Nantomah of Adom News, the two were assassinated in their home on Saturday morning.
ASP Wisdom Pavis Agbaklah, the Bole District Crime Officer, said the police received a call around 6:00 a.m. that six gunmen on motorcycles had entered the deceased's home.
They began firing indiscriminately for unknown reasons, murdering people in the process.
The cops arrived immediately in the hamlet and discovered the lifeless bodies in Mamadu's compound.
The bodies have been deposited at the Bole District hospital, according to ASP Agbaklah, and investigations are proceeding.
As a result, the police are pleading with locals in and around Bole District to assist anyone with information on the criminals.
Meanwhile, numerous AK47 cartridges and BBs were recovered at the crime scene.
