A tragic occurrence occurred at Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region, when an Accra-bound vehicle carrying over thirty passengers was engaged in a horrible accident. The driver of the red long bus with the registration number GT 5560-20 had set out from Takoradi's main station in the aim of arriving at his final destination on time, but the tragic occurrence occurred. The passengers began calling for assistance after only a few minutes after leaving the station.
An ash private vehicle that was also travelling in the same direction as the bus confused the driver at a section around Effiakuma known as fitting intersection.
He was only a few meters away from the bus driver when the driver of the ash vehicle came to a fork in the road and indicated that he would take the left-hand path. The bus driver became perplexed and chose to concentrate on his route.
The bus driver collided with the back of the private car after the private vehicle driver slowed down as if moving in his direction but afterwards changed his mind and went straight. Both vehicles' passengers began yelling for assistance. The situation for those in the private vehicle was dire.
Karlmax, an eyewitness, stated that all of the passengers in the private vehicle were seriously injured. He goes on to say that they were sent to the hospital for medical assistance since they were bleeding profusely.
The bus's over thirty occupants, on the other hand, were unharmed. All of them were unharmed when they exited the truck, but their driver was unable to continue the voyage. They were soon rerouted to another bus to complete their journey. While the injured are still undergoing care at the hospital, the police have begun an inquiry into the matter.
