when we talk about genotype,we talking about the genetic makeup of an organism.Genotype can also be used to refer to the alleles or variant an individual carries in a particular gene or genetic location. In humans, two full sets of chromosomes are present, meaning each individual has two alleles for any given gene. If both alleles are the same, the genotype is referred to as homozygous. If the alleles are different, the genotype is referred to as heterozygous.Genes are obtain from parents,half from mother ,half from father.
Why do counselors keep advising would be couples to check their genotype before planning marriage ,and sometimes go ahead to separate them because they are not compatible. WHY?
