After De Bruyne deflected a shot past Alisson, Liverpool trailed at halftime for the first time this season, but Jota quickly equalized, only for Gabriel Jesus to regain the lead and close the first half 2-1.It's worth noting that when Man City scores first, they've won 22 Premier League games this season. In the first half, Liverpool were off their game, but Man City deserved to be in front.

Mahrez squandered a golden opportunity to put City four points ahead, but the gap is now just one point. Man City and Liverpool will play again in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday.
On the surface, Manchester City appeared to have a firmer grip on the title race than they did before to kick-off: winning all of Liverpool's remaining games may not be enough. They did, however, perform so well at the Etihad Stadium that they had chances to extend their lead.
This title race is amazing because these teams have such a wide range of strengths. City had the ball for longer periods of time and attempted more shots. They never had the total control that they are known for when they are at their best, however. Certainly not in opposition
