Anthony Martial of Manchester United was abandoned by his wife after he cheated on her when she was pregnant.
Melanie Da Cruz, the forward's 30-year-old wife, informed supporters on social media that "love wasn't enough," adding, "Sometimes to win a race, you have to stop racing."
She didn't give followers an explanation for their three-year marriage's breakup.
In 2019, Martial, a Sevilla loanee, bedded French beauty Malika Semichi while Melanie was eight months pregnant.
"Things aren't going wonderfully for Martial on the pitch, and it appears that life at home has been tough as well," a source told the Daily Star Sunday.
