During an interview on BBC's Focus On Africa show on Monday, April 4, 2022, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reviewed the success of his government.
Despite the fact that the numerous subjects mentioned have sparked significant debate in the country, some people are focusing on the presenter of the show, Peter Okwoche, and his stance and line of inquiry.
Peter has been hailed as gutsy and audacious by certain political experts and social media users, who dare to pose thought-provoking questions. They've even gone so far as to compare him to certain Ghanaian journalists who have interviewed the country's president and other officials.
"Dear Ghana Journalist, be a PETER OKWOCHE in every interview." "Be courageous," one Facebook user commented.
Meanwhile, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Democratic Congress (NDCNational )'s Communication Officer, claims that President Akufo-Addo attempted to sell lie but was exposed by Peter kwóchè.
Kweku Baako, the Managing Editor of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, responded to this on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo,' dismissing assertions that Ghana lacked journalists like Peter Okwoche.
"There's also an attempt to attack the integrity of sections of the Ghanaian media...they claim the guy (Peter) asked hard questions that we couldn't ask...unfair it's to say that because the BBC host asked one or two solid questions that the President couldn't answer properly and so it means sections of the Ghanaian media are useless...and they've included me and Kwami Sefa Kayi in the list," he said.
"It's not as if the Ghanaian media doesn't raise tough questions," he claims.
