E-Levy: Transfer between accounts possessed by a similar individual will not be impacted

The Head of Compliance, Domestic Tax Revenue Unit at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has made a few explanations about the yet-to-be-executed Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).

As per Victor Yao Akogo, electronic exchanges between accounts claimed by a similar individual won't be exposed to the 1.5 percent duty of the recently presented demand.

He, in any case, said there is a condition to this exclusion.

Talking on JoyNews' The Probe on Sunday, Mr Akogo said residents should guarantee every one of their records have been connected to the National Identification Card (GhanaCard).

"We have an interesting identifier which is the GhanaCard and that is the very thing that we will utilize. There are certain individuals who have utilized their identification to enlist their record, we are expressing that for you to fit the bill for the exclusion.

"So there is the need to allow your GhanaCard to be connected to every one of your records so it will be the one of a kind identifier of you wherever with the goal that you can partake in the exclusion," he expressed.

Following the entry of the Electronic Transfer Law, the GRA has shown its status to carry out it from May 1.
