The Western Regional Police Command has detained four persons in connection with the attacks on the Nkroful Magistrate Court, the Esiama Police Divisional Headquarters, and the Ellembelle District Assembly.
Richard Tetteh, Kwame Gorkeh Miah, Michael Anyimiah, and Cosmos Gadekor were among a group of persons that rioted at the Nkroful District Magistrate Court on April 1, 2022, to demand the release of their colleagues who were on trial.
Police have identified twenty-two others who are now on the run and are following them in order to apprehend them and bring them to justice.
The mob also attacked the Ellembelle District Assembly and threatened to harm the District Chief Executive, according to a police press release.
The four suspects were part of a gang that invaded the Esiama Police Station, trashed rooms, and damaged cars parked at the station, including two buses and a Toyota Hilux Pickup, according to the report.
According to the brief, although police continue to rely on the assistance and cooperation of all well-intentioned Ghanaians, they also assure them that they would not cease in their efforts to maintain peace and order in the country.
