The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted rumors on social media that it has recommended a uniform for public school teachers.

Prof. Opoku Amankwah, Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), said in an interview with the media that the Service has never advocated any uniform or clothing for public basic school teachers.

Prof. Opoku Amankwah dismissed such accusations as "mere fallacies" perpetrated by anonymous individuals.

He went on to say that because GES does not make such suggestions on social media, instructors and Ghanaians should dismiss them.

Prof. Opoku Amankwah underlined that the alleged GES uniforms circulating on social media are neither from the Ghana Education Service nor from Ghanaian instructors.

He went on to say that any public elementary school with instructors wearing such uniforms should come out and show it.

As a result, he advised instructors and the general public to ignore any unverified material posted on social media by some users. Before believing and disseminating such material from the GES, teachers must verify it.

On social media, there have been multiple rumors of a leaked uniform for Ghana Education Service teachers (GES)

Some argue that requiring instructors to wear uniforms will aid in the identification of those who are licensed and certified under the GES
