The Athletic’s Roshane Thomas has shared an update on West Ham United defender Kurt Zouma following the injury he sustained in the 2-0 defeat against Brentford on Sunday.

The Lowdown: Zouma’s injury

During the Irons’ clash against their London rivals, the 27-year-old had to be replaced by Issa Diop in the 29th minute after he sustained a knock to his ankle. Thomas Frank’s side then went on to score twice in the second half, dealing David Moyes a blow in the Hammers’ pursuit of a top-four finish.

Of more imminent concern, Zouma’s injury has sparked concerns ahead of West Ham’s Europa League quarter-final second leg against Lyon on Thursday night.
