The Head of Compliance, Domestic Tax Revenue Unit at the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has made a few explanations about the yet-to-be-carried out Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy).

As per Victor Yao Akogo, electronic exchanges between accounts claimed by a similar individual won't be exposed to the 1.5 percent tax of the recently presented levy.

He, in any case, said there is a condition to this exclusion. Talking on JoyNews' The Probe on Sunday, Mr Akogo said residents should guarantee every one of their accounts have been connected to the National Identification Card (GhanaCard).

"We have an exceptional identifier which is the GhanaCard and that is the very thing that we will utilize.

"So there is the need to allow your GhanaCard to be connected to every one of your accounts so it will be the special identifier of you wherever with the goal that you can partake in the exception," he expressed.

Following the entry of the Electronic Transfer Law, the GRA has shown its preparation to execute it from May 1.
