Mr Roland Affail Monney, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), has pushed the media to support world peace via peace journalism.

He stated that, as peacemakers, the moment had come for the media to give conflict resolution journalism first priority in their professional obligations.

He was speaking at the Centre of Awareness Global Peace Mission's (ACOA-GPM) fourth public lecture and the unveiling of a five-year action plan to "bring peace to the globe" on Cape Coast

Hundreds of individuals attended the seminar, which was titled "Targeting Leadership Across the Globe to Achieve Global Peace," and included ambassadors, traditional leaders, academic professors, students, religious and political leaders, and security agencies.

"We want to see the media skew its stories, alter their shows, and adjust their debates to be more tractable and non-violent."

Mr. Monney said, "Furthermore, media practitioners should flood all online and offline channels with peace, peace, peace."

He said that the warning was not meant to prevent journalists from being objective on crucial subjects, but rather to encourage them to carry out their jobs with caution for the sake of peace.

"As you examine issues, uncover dark areas, and hold responsibility bearers accountable, you must not jeopardize the peace or jeopardize our stability," he said.

The JGA President went on to urge international leaders to take concrete actions to stop the Russia-Ukraine conflict, saying that it was not enough to lament the tragedy in Ukraine.
