Isaac Kobina Amoako, the GRA's Principal Revenue Officer, Project Management Unit, has stated that the Electronic Transaction Levy would not effect pay (E-levy).
Contractors who pay their employees are not allowed to cut their compensation as a result of the e-levy, according to Mr. Kobina Amoako. He said that this was owing to the fact that the law did not require the recipient to pay an e-levy.
Mr. Kobina Amoako, speaking on Joy FM's Midday News on Monday, said the e-levy affects the person who sends the message rather than the one who receives it.
"If you have a contract with your employer that states that he must pay you GHC3,000, there is no possibility that the GHC3,000 will be reduced due to the e-levy." He stated, "You will receive whatever contract you have with your employer."
