Drivers in Accra's Kwame Nkrumah Circle claim they're struggling to keep afloat due to high food and fuel prices.
While they hoped for a reduction in food prices, many stated their daily lunch budgets had been thrown out the window.
They stated in an interview on JoyNews' Living Standard Series that the circumstance has put them in a financial bind.
The drivers who use the Circle overpass are dissatisfied that their favorite kenkey and Ampesi have become more expensive as a result of increased gasoline prices. Olu, who is 68 years old, was enraged because the kenkey ball he bought for lunch had shrunk.
Unlike last year, when he spent less on kenkey and fish, he now has to pay more than ten dollars for the same dish, not to mention the fact that he must fast for many hours each day.
He does it because food prices have grown abnormally, not because of a religious requirement.
He is still struggling with rising gasoline prices and how to provide for his family as the expense of life rises.
"I paid three dollars for kenkey, and the fish range in size from six to ten." As a result, I'll have to work quickly to manage the money I have because the economy is really hurting us right now.
