Bliss GVS Ghana, a global pharmaceutical firm, visited Kumasi over the weekend as part of its 'ACT for Africa' campaign, donating antimalarial and other important drugs to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) and the Manhyia District Hospital.
The gift will benefit three hospitals in three different regions that have benefited from the global pharmaceutical company's malaria-prevention campaign.
The Koforidua Regional Hospital, St. Martins Senior High School in Nsawam, Tamale Teaching Hospital, and the Nurses and Midwives Training College in Tamale are among the hospitals and institutions that have already received antimalarial and other vital drugs.
Aside from the donations, Bliss GVS Ghana also held health seminars with the students to teach them about malaria prevention.
The 'Act for Africa' campaign is a Bliss GVS Ghana project designed at raising awareness and equipping healthcare practitioners to help Ghana and Africa combat malaria.

David Kofi Boakye Abubear, Ashanti Regional Medical Representative of Bliss GVS Ghana, presented the medicines to the management of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Manhyia. He said the company is providing an opportunity for people who cannot afford anti-malarial and other essential medicines when diagnosed with the disease to receive free medicines.
