Hundreds of kids have been accepted into Ghana's Senior High Schools, including Rita Offin, a 64-year-old mother of seven (SHS).

The sexagenarian began her education at Christ The King Senior High School (CKC) in Obuasi on Monday, April 11, 2022, after being admitted.

In the year 2021, Madam Offin took the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Her decision to return to school was prompted by the difficulties she has had in her trade as a person who cannot read or write.

Despite being mocked from the start, she defied all odds to enroll in class four at Independence School Brahabebome, Obuasi, at the age of 57.

She expressed her excitement for the new phase of her schooling in an interview with Adom News' Isacc K. Normanyo, saying she wants nothing but the best.

She went on to say that she will not be intimidated or disturbed by any scorn or other treatment she may receive, and that all she wishes for from God is long life and strength.

She would be a role model for her fellow students at C.K.C., according to James Kwaku Brefo, the assistant headmaster in charge of administration.

He asked the entire student body to follow her example and pay attention to their studies.

Some of the first-year students were ecstatic to meet her and commended her for taking such a risk.
