Manchester City Captain Fernandinho stunned chief Pep Guardiola by saying on Tuesday he intended to leave the English bosses toward the finish of the time.
The 36-year-old previous Brazil global, who has come out on top for four Premier League championships since joining City from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013, uncovered his expectations at a pre-match public interview in front of Wednesday's Champions League quarterfinal second leg away to Atletico Madrid.
Fernandinho, inquired as to whether he might want to expand his visit at the Etihad for one more year, answered: "I have to take a hard pass."
Guardiola, who was close by the midfielder, was shocked by his captain's declaration.
"Gracious! I didn't have any idea. You give me the news," he said.
"I didn't hear it. We will see what occurs. I don't have any idea what will occur. He is so significant. I'll ask him," the Spaniard demanded.
Guardiola said Fernandinho had been "an inconceivable player for Manchester City".
The supervisor added: "Toward the finish of the time we talk, perhaps this is a result of his loved ones. I would adore it. We will talk."
Fernandinho made his last beginning for English champions and table-clinchers City in the home Champions League tie against Sporting toward the beginning of March, however Guardiola said his club skipper stayed a significant figure.
"The job he plays this season - I like individuals who act in the background," he made sense of.
"I know what he has done, behind me, he handles a significant number of our players and stars to support the group.
"I acclaim him and he was here when I show up. Raheem (Sterling), Kevin (De Bruyne), John (Stones), a couple of players. We realize him well, from the very beginning to now here all of the time.
"An inconceivable player for Man City. There are things no one knows except for I know precisely."
City, yet to be delegated rulers of Europe in the wake of losing last season's Champions League last to English opponents Chelsea, will venture out to Spain with a 1-0 lead from the main leg on account of a goal from Kevin de Bruyne.
