UKRAINE REPORTS CAPTURE OF PUTIN PARTNER IN 'LIGHTNING-QUICK' ACTIVITY

Ukrainian security administrations have reported the capture of Vladimir Putin's nearest partner in Ukraine, the oligarch and resistance lawmaker Viktor Medvedchuk, in what they called a "lightning-quick and risky" activity.

The catch of Medvedchuk, who got away from house capture on treachery charges days after the Russian attack of Ukraine, was first reported by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, who posted an image of the prisoner via online entertainment, rumpled, in cuffs and wearing armed force fatigues with a Ukrainian banner fix. "A unique activity was done by the security administration of Ukraine. Great job!" Zelenskiy composed on Telegram, and later recommended trading him for Ukrainian detainees of war held by Russia.

"I propose to the Russian Federation to trade this person of yours for our young men and our young ladies who are presently in Russian bondage," Zelensky said in a video address posted on Telegram. Medvedchuk developed rich from Russian oil interests and his vicinity to the Kremlin.

In January, the US put Medvedchuk and three other Moscow-upheld Ukrainian legislators under sanctions, blaming them for contribution in a plot to set up a teammate government right after the Russian attack. Zelenskiy additionally suspended Medvedchuk's party - Ukraine's biggest resistance gathering - and a few other more modest ideological groups attached to Moscow in March.

Medvedchuk's capture and prosecution irritated Putin who took steps to answer what he considered to be political oppression.

It was not promptly clear where and how he was caught.

Ivan Bakanov, the top of the security administration (SBU), said thanks to his examiners and counterintelligence officials who "demonstrated their incredible skill and led a lightning and hazardous staggered exceptional activity to keep delegate Medvedchuk".

"You can stow away from equity. You could wear a Ukrainian military uniform to camouflage … But will it assist you with getting away from discipline? Not in the least!" the SBU said in a tweet.

 

Kyiv's crackdown on Medvedchuk had ignited outrage in the Kremlin, with Putin promising at one phase to "answer" to what he called a political mistreatment.

The Kremlin representative, Dmitry Peskov, wouldn't remark after catching wind of Medvedchuk's catch, telling Russian correspondents that "there are a great deal of fakes coming from Ukraine" and "this should be really taken a look right away".
