Atletico Madrid vs Manchester City - Preview, prediction, team news, lineups,Kick off time
When Manchester City travels to the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday evening for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Atletico Madrid, they will be looking to overcome a 1-0 deficit.
Pep Guardiola's men took control at the Etihad Stadium thanks to a Kevin De Bruyne goal, and the winner of the two-leg tie will face Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
NEWS FROM THE TEAM
Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone will welcome Yannick Carrasco back after his suspension kept him out of the first-leg loss, and all players with two yellow cards will have their cautions wiped ahead of the semi-finals.
Hector Herrera, an MLS-bound midfielder, is still out, as is key defender Jose Gimenez.
With the latter seemingly set to miss out again due to a calf issue, Simeone appears to be well-stocked for the second leg.
The hosts are expected to make at least one or two changes as a result of the quick turnaround and two disappointing defeats, with Joao Felix expected to return to the starting lineup alongside Renan Lodi and Sime Vrsaljko.
City also has only two injury concerns for the second leg, with Ruben Dias still dealing with a hamstring issue and teenage attacker Cole Palmer dealing with a foot problem.
There is a slim chance that the duo will make the squad, but Guardiola will not rush them back, and Gabriel Jesus' start at the weekend may have influenced his decision and as the attacker is suspended for an accumulation of bookings.
Atletico Madrid possible starting lineup:
Oblak; Savic, Felipe, Reinildo; Vrsaljko, Llorente, Koke, Lemar, Lodi; Griezmann, Felix
Manchester City possible starting lineup:
Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Ake; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Mahrez, Foden, Sterling
PREDICTION : Atletico Madrid 1-2 Manchester City (Man City win 3-1 on aggregate)
