According to Henry Asante Twum, the FA cannot start the process of a Ghanaian player born overseas switching nationalities without the Black Stars coach's approval.

Inaki Williams, Tariq Lamptey, Eddie Nketiah, Callum Hudson Odoi, and others have all been connected to the Black Stars ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, with rumours stating that the GFA has begun talks with the players to switch from their European clubs to represent Ghana.

The GFA Spokesperson, on the other hand, has maintained that they can only initiate the national switch dialogue with some of Ghana's top foreign-born players if the future Black Stars coach gives them the green light.

"I'm not sure who we'd like to pursue." Let's leave it to the coach, to be honest. When Otto Addo was hired, he brought Dennis Odoi and Elisha Owusu with him. We went through the procedure and obtained the two players as a result of his pressure."

"When C.K. took the job, he decided to bring Akwasi Otchere Wriedt with him, and we did everything we could to make that happen." We traveled to France under C.K Akunnor to see Alexander Djiku and did everything we could to change his nationality "In an interview with Joy FM, he stated.

After eliminating Nigeria's Super Eagles in the playoffs with an away goal, the Black Stars have qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
