Assin North good without unlawful MP - Frank Davies
The legal counselor for the solicitor for the situation against the Assin North MP says the Supreme court administering on the order application against the troubled MP is a positive development.
The constituents, as indicated by him are in an ideal situation with next to no portrayal in Parliament as opposed to an illicit individual being their MP.
"An indecipherable individual going around as a Member of Parliament for a supporters when he isn't; it prompts a mutilation of the sovereign will of individuals of Assin North.
"They are in an ideal situation now without somebody who is marching as a Member of Parliament while he isn't, while we anticipate the choice of this Court," he told EIB Court Correspondent Murtala Inusah in a meeting after Wednesday's decision.
The Supreme Court on Wednesday by a larger part choice limited Member of Parliament for Assin North James Gyakye Quayson from playing out his parliamentary obligations.
The pinnacle court in a 5-2 decision said the application from Michael Ankomah Nimfah succeeds.
The seven-part board of the Supreme Court held that the MP is retrained from holding himself out as a MP for the Assin North voting demographic.
While Justice Agnes Dordzie and Nene Amegatcher disagreed, Jones Dotse, as Court President, Prof. Henrietta Mensah Bonsu, Mariama Owusu, Gertrude Torkornoo, and Emmanuel Yonny Kulendi allowed the application.
