The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey, has stated that tricycle riders, often known as 'pragya', will soon be prohibited from operating in Accra.

The Regional Minister said in an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' show that the administration will develop a bye-law in two months to restrict the movement of 'pragya' inside the Region.

He made it clear that violators' tricycles would be seized.

This, he believes, is to guarantee that the 'pragya' riders do not pose any additional dangers on the roads, since they are suspected of contributing to regional traffic accidents.

"I'm sending this warning because we're about to pass another bye-law restricting the movement of 'pragya' in the CBD (Central Business District) and elsewhere."
