On Tuesday evening, Real Madrid eliminated Chelsea from the Champions League in spectacular fashion.

The Blues were on their way to a spectacular comeback after taking control of the tie with a 3-0 lead.

Late in the game, however, Luka Modric provided a brilliant assist for Rodrygo TO SCORe, forcing the game into overtime.

According to Rudiger, Chelsea's Champions League exit was caused by two Real Madrid players.

Antonio Rudiger has singled out Real Madrid's best players, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema, as the masterminds behind Chelsea's shocking Champions League defeat on Tuesday, April 12.

The visitors overcame a two-goal deficit in the first leg, with Rudiger scoring to put Chelsea ahead 4-3 on aggregate.

Despite Chelsea's best efforts, Real Madrid only needed one magical moment to re-enter the game.

Luka Modric provided a magnificent outer foot assist late in the game, and Rodrygo had an easy volley to re-level the tie.

Karim Benzema came through for his team once more in extra time, heading home the winner for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Rudiger couldn't stop gushing about Modric and Benzema's talent after the game, despite the fact that both are in their late 30s.

"If you make these kinds of mistakes over the two legs, you get punished," he told BTSport.

"It was a do or die situation for us." Before the game, no one thought we'd get to 3-0, but then the individual class of Modric and Benzema showed up, and now we're here."
