'No Gyakye Quayson, No vote' - Assin North constituents clatter

 

Inhabitants of Assin North in the Central Region have communicated worry about the decision of the Supreme Court over their Member of Parliament's citizenship.

 

As per them, they won't decide in favor of some other competitor, be it from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or his National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the event that a by-political race is called.

 

They are requesting that he gets back to challenge and reclaim his seat.

 

Addressing Media General's Thomas Vincent Cann a couple of seconds after the Supreme Court administered on Wednesday, April 13 that James Gyakye Quayson can't hold himself as MP for Assin North until an argument against him at the Cape Coast High Court is finished, inhabitants said they are disheartened by the result.

 

"We saw a great deal of beneficial things in the man that he will come and help Assin North," an older lady by name Akua Ataa said.

 

"We realized he planned to do beneficial things for us so we enormously decided in favor of him and he won. Indeed, even it was President Akufo-Addo's shortcoming that he didn't get his reports on time on the grounds that [the president] shut the boundaries in the pinnacle of the Covid."

 

She added: "We won't cast a ballot on the off chance that [Gyakye Quayson] isn't made to stand regardless of whether the competitor comes from NDC, we won't cast a ballot."

 

Another occupant, Quashigah Simon, prevalently known as Rasta, said the banned MP set out upon a few activities which charmed him to the constituents and not just NDC people.

 

He said Mr Gyakye Quayson gave more than 1,000 streetlamps and began enlisting road kids into schools to satisfy a guarantee of sending 500 of the youngsters class kickoff.

In the interim, the NDC has alluded to returning Mr Gyakye Quayson as its up-and-comer on the off chance that a by-political race is held.
