Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah has instructed trial court judges to follow the centuries-old practice of calling senior lawyers' cases first.

"This will expand the legal experience beyond what is taught in chambers and other places or employment," he stated.

After his attention was called to the fact that some trial judges were not following this procedure in court, Chief Justice Anin Yeboah issued the instruction in a circular published in Accra.

He said that adhering to such customs allowed junior attorneys to learn from their elders.

"I will recommend that all trial court Judges scrupulously follow this age-old custom and invite applications from Seniors first," he stated.
