Imam Nurudeen Quaye, the Greater Accra Regional Imam of the Ghana Muslim Mission (GMM), has urged Muslims to purify their hearts in order to satisfy Allah.

He stressed the need of working on the heart to make it spiritually upright in order to satisfy only Allah so that one's efforts to reach heaven would not be in vain.

This was delivered by Imam Quaye during the second session of the GMM's Ramadan Lectures Series, which was themed "For the love of Allah, the heart wishes of a practicing Muslim."

"Allah has stated (Fiisibillilah) for the love of Allah in over 242 verses in the Holy Quran, and whenever He does, He draws attention to Himself," he added, adding that Muslims must grasp the importance of doing all acts of worship with sincerity.

The Regional Imam advised Muslims to think about the passages, grasp what Allah intended, adjust their mindsets, and apply the Quran's teachings, especially during Ramadan.

Sheikh Dr. Amin Bonsu, GMM's National Chairman, said Muslims must fear and obey Allah as their Creator because He appreciates them when they accept His orders. He said that fasting throughout Ramadan is a command from Allah.

"Let us follow the fasting with complete dedication and sincerity and attempt as much as possible to mold our character to the best and satisfaction of Allah," he added, emphasizing that whatever they did during the season was for their own betterment.
