OFAAKOR MURDER: FIVE REMANDED IN CUSTODY

Five people have been remanded in police custody by the Ofaakor District Court for allegedly killing one Isaac Mensah in Papase No.1, a neighbourhood in the Awutu Senya West District, over a land dispute.

 

Three additional people suspected of being engaged in the crime are on the run, and the cops are hot on their tails.

 

Godson Koli, Christopher Koli, Godsway Forwornu, James Nii Armah, and John Tiaku, the accused, have pleaded not guilty to a preliminary charge of murder and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, April 22.

 

Chief Inspector Peter Amponsah, the prosecutor, informed the court, chaired over by Mr Eric Oheneba Antwi Boasiako, that investigations were underway and that the accused people be detained.

According to him, the victim was slain at a sand winning site at Papase No. 1 following a dispute over land ownership.

 

The police apprehended Tiaku, who had escorted the dead to the scene.

 

According to the prosecutor, materials are being prepared for submission to the Attorney General's office for review.
