Francis Xavier-Sosu, Member of Parliament (MP) for Madina, has expressed his disappointment with the Supreme Court's decision on a plea for an injunction to prevent James Gyakye Quayson from holding himself out as a Member of Parliament for Assin North.

Despite his anguish, he believes that the besieged NDC MP must keep believing in his ambitions and remain strong.

"Hon. James Quayson" is a phrase that means "Honorable James Quayson." I'm in a lot of pain, but I urge you to remember that no matter what life throws at you, you can overcome it. Every difficulty, every setback, every heartbreak holds the seed of a greater or equal profit.

"There are several examples of minority viewpoints becoming the majority. It's only a question of time.  The Supreme Court has barred Assin North's MP from carrying out his parliamentary responsibilities.

Mr Quayson, the Assin North MP, was found not to be the Member of Parliament for Assin North by a 5-2 majority of the Supreme Court.

This comes after a citizen of Assin Bereku, Michael Ankomah Nimfah, sought an interlocutory injunction preventing the MP from exercising his parliamentary responsibilities on January 27, 2022, following a high court verdict on July 28, 2021, nullified his election due to a dual citizenship problem.

The troubled Member of Parliament had filed an appeal against the High Court decision, but it was dismissed because he failed to make written remarks within the required time frame.
