Former Deputy Energy Minister John Jinapor believes Ghana's electrical supply network is doomed.
According to him, if nothing is done about the country's serious energy status, the country would be thrown back into darkness.
This follows the Energy Minister, Dr Mathew Opoku- Prempeh's, Wednesday disclosures, which he claims portray a bleak picture of the country's surplus capacity.
The Energy Commission advises a Reserve Margin of 18 percent over peak demand, according to Mr Jinapor.
However, according to his judgement of the sector minister's presentation at the Information Ministry, this is not the reality on the ground.
"A system peak demand of 3,469MW versus reliable capacity of 3,861MW for Ghana in 2022 was verified in the Energy Minister's press briefing this morning at the Information Ministry," he stated.
"With the reserve margin of 324MW, the total reliable capacity now stands at 4,096MW."
