Carlo Ancelotti had a successful Saturday night, as Real Madrid defeated Getafe 2-0 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu to earn three more LaLiga Santander points while resting Luka Modric and Toni Kroos ahead of the Champions League quarter-final second game.
In their place, Fede Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga started with Casemiro, and the Uruguayan and Frenchman did well.
Casemiro is back to his best form, netting his first goal of the season against Getafe after a strong performance against Chelsea.
After receiving a yellow card accumulation suspension, he will now miss the Sevilla game on Sunday.
That would normally have been a big source of concern for Ancelotti.
Valverde and Camavinga, on the other hand, are two young midfielders who are on the rise and have already made an impact for the team.
Camavinga has wowed the audience at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, repeatedly getting the ball back and breaking lines with a level of confidence rarely seen in a teenager.
Camavinga demonstrated that there is life after Kroos and Modric just days after Valverde stood out for his performance on the right flank against Chelsea.
In addition to Valverde and Camavinga's outstanding efforts, Lucas Vazquez stood out by playing well throughout the game and scored the game's second goal against Getafe.
He came on to give Dani Carvajal a rest, and it worked out well, giving Ancelotti three more points in the title fight and several crucial players rested for the second leg against Chelsea.
Gareth Bale was even able to come on late in the game and lead Real Madrid's line, giving Karim Benzema a rest.
Real Madrid's backups are starting to shine.
