The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has struck an agreement with Borussia Dortmund to appoint Otto Addo as head coach of the Black Stars.

Ghana will be represented at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar by the Ghanaian coach, who is also an assistant coach for the German club.

Following Ghana's poor performance in the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, Serbian coach Milovan Rajevac was fired, and Otto Addo was named coach, with George Boateng and Masaud Didi Dramani named assistant coaches.

While Chris Hughton, an Irishman with a Ghanaian father, was named a technical advisor to Otto Addo's technical team.

In a two-legged play-off game, the new look technical team orchestrated a qualification victory against fierce rivals Nigeria.

After securing World Cup qualifying against Nigeria, their contract expired, but the GFA is eager to keep the same team and has rapidly concluded negotiations with the German club.

A group from the Ghana Football Association will fly to Germany in the coming days to finalize the agreements.

Ghana is in Group H, which also includes Portugal, Korea Republic, and Uruguay.
