Following a pass from striker Kevin Gameiro, the 27-year-old delivered a spectacular bicycle kick that drove the ball into the AS Monaco net. AS Monaco put up a terrific display in the second half to try to get back into the game, but Strasbourg's perseverance kept them from scoring.
Despite playing in 28 games, Djiku's bicycle kick was his first goal of the season. He was named to the French Ligue 1 Team of the Week for his performance in the game, as well as Match of the Match.
He joined Strasbourg from Caen in 2019 and has since played 63 times for the club. Djiku' was a part of Ghana's team that competed in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon, however the Black Stars were eliminated in the group stage.
Following his defeat in Cameroon, he helped Ghana qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
