Darwin Nunez of Benfica has reportedly risen to the top of Manchester United's attacking shortlist.
In Wednesday's 3-3 Champions League draw with Liverpool, the Uruguay international scored his 32nd goal of the season in all competitions, but a further two strikes were ruled out for offside.
Nunez's stellar performances in the 2021-22 season are said to have piqued the interest of numerous clubs across Europe, and Benfica are said to be willing to sell for the right price.
According to The Mirror, Nunez is now Manchester United's top target for the final third in the summer transfer window, with Harry Kane ready to turn down interest from the Red Devils in order to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Man United are expected to lose Edinson Cavani on a free transfer at the end of the season, while the futures of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, and Anthony Martial are also uncertain at Old Trafford.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with Nunez, who is thought to be worth €80 million (£66.2 million) to Benfica.
