To clear up some of the falsehoods spread by some people and the media.

1. The 1.5 percent E-Levy charges will be paid only by the person transferring or sending the money.

2. When cashing out a Momo, the recipient will not be charged an E-Levy fee. Cashing out is completely free. For example, if you send money to your mother or any other relative, you, the sender, will be responsible for the 1.5 percent charge. When the money is received, the individual receiving it will not have to pay anything.

3. Money transfers from your bank account to your Momo wallet are free and do not incur E-Levy fees, and vice versa.

4. You will not be charged any E-Levy if you pay money or bills to a registered VAT company, institution, or merchant. For example, whether you're paying for energy, water, passport application fees, DSTV bills, FDA or GSA fees, and so on. All of these are free from the E-1.5 Levy's percent levy.
