Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, according to Amnesty International, a worldwide organization dedicated to resolving human rights concerns, inequality and instability increased.

The terrible impacts of the pandemic were worsened by weak health systems with economic and social support crumbling under the weight of decades of neglect, according to the organization, which has a presence in Ghana.

Hannah Osei, Amnesty International Ghana's Human Rights Education, and Youth Engagement Coordinator stated this at the launch of Amnesty International's State of the World's Human Rights 2021/2022 report in Accra.

The study focuses on Ghana's human rights situation in the global context. "In Africa, just 8% of the population was completely vaccinated by the year 2000."

She said that security forces in Africa used live bullets against protestors, killing over 100 individuals and injuring over 1000 more.

Apart from that, she stated that armed conflict in several African nations resulted in the deaths of thousands of people and the displacement of millions as they sought to leave the turmoil.
