Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, has urged Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to assist small and medium-scale enterprises, particularly in the area of citing their stores and containers.
In order to maximize the opportunities available, the Minister further advised training institutes and organizations to include assembly members and MMDAs in their operations.
The Minister delivered the remarks on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Ghanaian German Centre for Jobs Migration and Reintegration in Accra, where he was closing a three-day training session in ice cream and yoghurt manufacture organized by GIZ for 18 participants.

Mr Baffour Awuah urged the trainees to put their newfound knowledge to good use by putting their time and effort into their start-up firms.
He advised the trainees to make their goods with local and sugar-free components, especially in an era when people are becoming more health-conscious and sugary product consumption is declining.
The Minister took advantage of the occasion to express gratitude to the GIZ and the European Union for their assistance in renovating various Public Employment Centres (PEC) around the nation.
Other Public Employment will be updated as part of the next World Bank Jobs and Skills Project, he said, in order to make PECs more responsive.
Mr. Kinsley Broni, a consultant from Kingsplan Links Ghana Limited, told the minister that his company will supply all of the trainees with business start-up equipment and materials.
GIZ's Senior National Programmes Coordinator for the PME, David Tete Yaw Mensah, said his organisation will monitor and support the learners to ensure they got the most out of the programme.
