Nana Buckman, a Ghanaian living in the United States, has told a heartbreaking narrative of their trip via Central America to the United States.

Buckman claimed in an interview with SVTV Africa that he opted to leave Brazil owing to the weak economy at the time. He said that the Cedi in Ghana was worth more than the Brazilian currency.

Buckman stated that they met a Ghanaian couple who were also traveling from Ecuador to Columbia on their tour.

"He was with his five-year-old child and his heavily pregnant wife." The man suggested that his wife return to Ghana, but she refused. The man fell because he took a false step."

When the youngster who was perched on his neck fell into the sea, he dove in to save the child. They couldn't stand up to the surging flood. "How can we help them if we don't know how to swim?" he explained.

Mr. Buckman went on to say that when they arrived in Panama, they informed the pregnant woman's family of the event.

Nana Buckman described the adventure as passing through jungles, evading naval police, taking boat rides in foreign waterways, and so on.

They made their way from Panama to Nicaragua. The journey across Nicaragua was described by Nana Buckman as the most perilous excursion he had ever taken.
