The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said it will organise CAF License C refresher courses for coaches in September.

The GFA organised refresher courses earlier in the year in March at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.

CAF recently declared that all licensed coaches are mandated to take refresher courses every two years.

The GFA’s Technical Directorate, led by Bernard Lippert, with support from the Director of Coach Education, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, took charge of the refresher courses last year for License A and B holders to, among other things, train them on modern coaching trends.

They also oversaw the training courses for this year as well and will do same for September as well.

The registration fee for the License C course is pegged at GHC3,500 which includes feeding and accommodation for three weeks as well as logistics.Medical Practitioners have dispelled the notion that coke and salt could stop a runny stomach.

On Episode 4 of Season 10 of the Vodafone Healthline Series, Cardiologist, Aba Folson explained that diarrheas are “self-limiting” thus coke and salt will not stop diarrhea but will play an important role in the rehydration process.

“The coke and salt replace lost fluids and help in rehydration,” She said.

In the Volta Region, the story of Elijah who had to undergo surgery after drinking a poisonous substance was highlighted.

Elijah’s parents said Vodafone Healthline played a major role in facilitating their son’s recovery through their financial assistance.

Nutritionist, Dr. Ayisi Addo was on the show to discuss nutrition for optimal weight.

She said diseases such as diabetes and hypertension can all be prevented through healthy diets.

“40 percent of cancers can be prevented using healthy diets.”

In this Weeks’ Medicine Edition, the show discussed 3D Technology and its application in Medicine.

Medical Practitioner, Kweku Yalley said 3D technology can be used to speed up surgical procedures, among others.
